Reviews

Some girlfriends and I went to Portland for a reunion/vacation. We stayed with Lisa and could not have been more pleased with our stay. Lisa keeps an incredibly beautiful house and provides an exquisite breakfast. My favorite included some mouth-watering sausage and potatoes. She also introduced me to my new favorite yogurt!

We stayed in the Water Room and Sun Room, which are so gorgeous they're Pinterest-worthy. The beds were so comfortable it was nearly impossible to get up in the morning. But it was a good thing we did because breakfast came after. In addition to keeping a spotless and welcoming home, Lisa has a large deck with great furniture and a garden to die for.

Lisa’s house is in a great location. The neighborhood is gorgeous, just steps from Mt. Tabor, and it’s right on a bus line. Take the 71 over to the MAX and take the MAX right into town; that’s what we did.

We can’t wait to go back.

Lisa was a wonderful hostess. She was genuinely concerned with our comfort and eager to provide suggestions for outdoor activities and dining/refreshment options. Her house is clean and cozy. The Water Room (two twin beds) was perfect for my friend and I. The beds (and organic linens) were very conducive to a good night's sleep.
The breakfasts. Wow. Breakfast meatballs, apple cobbler, squash pancakes, eggs with collard greens and other mixed veggies... I almost think Lisa has been ignoring a culinary calling. Lisa was happy to accommodate any dietary restriction or request as well, and she will not let you leave her house hungry in the morning. Lisa really promoted a welcoming atmosphere through the whole house. My friend and I, Lisa, and the other guests consistently found ourselves just talking with each other for an hour after breakfast or into the night. Duckie (the unbelievably well-behaved dog) seemed content to play or sit with any of the guests as appropriate. Lisa and her hospitality are highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 1/2 weeks at The Apas House. Without any exaggeration 5+1 star B&B!

Lisa is super nice, breakfast was always fantastic, house has a very good atmosphere (very clean), Duckie (the dog)  is cool and friendly. To sum up, I would recommend to everyone, with full heart, to stay at Lisa's.

I travel with some frequency (several times each year), and have stayed at many hotels and a few B&Bs. My and my family's stay at Apas House with Lisa is easily in my top five most comfortable and enjoyable lodging experiences. Our rooms were neat; our towels were clean; and when we needed anything, Lisa was right there to supply it. Even better than a hotel, Apas House made us feel like we were at home - in fact, we often found ourselves referring to the B&B as 'home' during conversations while out in the world! Apas House includes a well-mannered, four-footed hostess, Duckie, who made us feel welcome every time we arrived with her wagging tail and doggie grins.

Lisa provided us with many great suggestions which enhanced our stay, such as restaurants to try and sites we might visit. And every morning, Lisa wow'd us with wholesome breakfasts that included ingredients largely supplied from her own garden - we never ate the same thing twice, and always left the table satisfied, energized and ready for the day's adventures. In the evenings when we returned from our site-seeing, we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a local brew in hand, or teaching each other games at the 'gaming octagon,' a many-sided antique table that's a part of Apas House's cozy yet classically-appointed sitting room. Quite simply, my family agrees that there's no better place to stay in Portland.

I'm looking forward to our next visit even more now that we've found the perfect lodging and hostess.

We had a great time staying with Lisa and her adorable dogs! The house was clean, in a good location, and our beds were super comfy. We really appreciated the environmentally sustainable details in the house and homemade breakfast...which as delicious. Highly recommend this house-stay over a hotel, and make sure to hike mt tabor to watch the sun set over downtown.

My friend and I just needed a place to crash after doing STP riding from Seattle to Portland, and Lisa's place was an excellent place to stay. The sleeping accommodations were super comfortable, and it was such a nicely decorated and cute house! (Be sure to try out the porch swing... It's awesome!) Lisa was a kind and generous host that was knowledgeable about the neighborhood, and offered helpful tips on worthwhile destinations. She made a mean breakfast for us that was tasty, satisfying, and lived up to Portland stereotypes—organic and locally sourced. Lastly, the place itself was well-situated, within easy walking distance of Mt. Tabor, Hawthorne Blvd and Belmont St.

I stayed at Lisa's B & B for a second time, and I love so much about The Apas House! I love the close proximity to the shopping and restaurants on Hawthorne and Belmont Streets as well as the nice walk to and through the beautiful Mt. Tabor.

Lisa was extremely helpful in gathering some items for me to take to my cooking class demo to enhance the decor. I also adore her dog and had a nice evening with Duckie on the relaxing back porch/hammock, surrounded by a gorgeous pine tree and colorful flowers along with a well-kept garden bed. I enjoyed the variety of Lisa's breakfasts, some straight from her garden...all very delicious and healthy! It was nice to get to know Lisa over breakfast. She is kind, generous, and open. If I am back in Portland, I will definitely stay here again if there is space available. Thank you Lisa!

Excellent stay with an amazingly hospitable host! For starters Lisa is very accommodating for she worked with me on making the last minute reservation and was excellent in communication.

Lisa makes an amazing breakfast, all with local produce, including some things from the yard. It was also really awesome not to have to worry about keys, since she has a code operated door which she customized with a personal pin just for me. It was splendid staying at this comfortable home, which was full of character.

Lisa was a great host when I spent 4 days in Portland earlier this summer. The house is really beautiful and the location is nice and peaceful whilst still being within a short walking distance of plenty to see and do. I would really recommend staying here.

Lisa is an awesome host with a beautiful and peaceful home. Great location for any Portland event. We visited for Portland marathon and will be back for STP (Seattle to Portland Bike Ride). Home is historical, comfortable and happy! Lisa is keeps the B&B pristine. She presents an awesome (gluten free & organic & locally collected) breakfast! Look forward to being back next summer. Highly recommend!
